2001 | 2002 | 2004

The Aguerd Loop

The start point at Tazzitount

A local takes the quick route to the concrete bridge.

(We came up the official path)

Some welcome shade during the ascent of the path.

Looking at the prosperous terracing below Anammer and Aguerd

In several places we saw threshing using teams of animals
on the village threshing grounds

The shady lunch spot with a
a cool mountain stream.

Continuing the walk after lunch

More shade in the village of Tizi n'Oucheg

The remains of the suspension bridge.

(We crossed by the low bridge)

The comparable scene in 2004

Ouirgane

Plateau Kik was too hot, so we went to Ouirgane.

Lunch spot with Oleanders.

Anins - out and return

We sat having our lunch and looking across at the isolated village of Anins: it still lacks road access.

The walk was an out-and-return trip from Hotel Amnougour.

Crossing the Atlas Range

Two donkeys photographed at one of our "Photo Stops".

A long days travelling. Here we stop briefly near Ait ben Haddou.

A souvenir-seller in the foreground.

Ait Oudinar

Our hotel - le Vieux Chateau

Summer dining area

(On a "Pioneer tour" you can't expect walls)

Mohammed - local guide and drum-player

Gorge du Dades

Our first morning.

Crossing the footbridge near the Hotel Vieux Chateau.

The entry to Death Canyon.

Abdul poses to give scale.

Sunlight and shadow under a huge chockstone.

Later in the walk.

Few plants. No shade!

Near the river at the end of the walk.
